Pioneering a Zero Plastic Waste Resort

On September 9, 2023, in Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province, Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort officially announced that it is a Zero Plastic Waste Resort, no longer emitting plastic waste into the environment or using single-use plastics.

Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort is constructed on only 30% of its total land area, with the remaining space devoted to a fresh and green environment. This Hoi An Beach Resort currently uses bamboo, wood, paper, and biodegradable materials instead of single-use plastics and glass water bottles. It also owns and cares for a Caman garden to self-supply green vegetables and herbs, and maintains a saltwater pool without using chlorine, among other sustainable practices.

According to Mr. Tran Thai Do, the investor of Silk Sense Resort, the resort has pursued an “Environmental Protection Journey” since its inception. With a focus on sustainable development, Silk Sense has employed environmentally friendly materials and implemented programs to reduce plastic waste.

Silk Sense has established specific criteria and solutions to eliminate plastic waste entirely. To date, the resort has completely eradicated plastic waste emissions and no longer uses single-use plastic items.
